Occupational English Test-The listening sub test

The subjects are relevant to applicants from various professions and have a general interest in healthcare. The Listening audio lasts for around 40 minutes in total, including audio recordings and breaks that give applicants time to type their responses. Each tape is played once, and the students are instructed to record their responses as they listen.

There are a total of forty-two question items in the three portions of the Listening subtest.

Part A

The capacity of applicants to recognize certain information during a consultation is evaluated in Part A. They pay heed to two recorded doctor-patient conversations and fill in the blanks in the doctor’s notes with the knowledge they learn. Note that any of the 12 professions that are eligible to take the OET may be the health professionals. Contact us for IELTS preparation in Sharjah.

OET Reading

There is a sum of 42 questionnaire items in the three sections of the Reading subtest.

It takes sum of 60 minutes to finish all three sections. Since the themes are of general relevance to healthcare professionals, any applicants can access them.

Part A

Part A evaluates applicants’ ability to quickly and effectively discover particular information from four brief texts. The four brief texts cover a particular issue in healthcare, and students have 20 questions to respond to in the allotted time. Matching, sentence completion, and short answer questions make up the 20 questions. Visit one of the OET training centers in Sharjah.

Part B

Part B evaluates candidates’ abilities to recognize the specifics, gist, or main idea of six brief texts taken from the workplace of the healthcare industry (each between 100 and 150 words). The materials may include excerpts from manuals, hospital policies, manuals, or internal correspondence like emails or memos. There is one multiple-choice question for each text.

Part C

Examining applicants’ comprehension of two texts on areas of relevance to healthcare professionals is part of Part C. (800 words each). They must respond to eight four-option multiple-choice questions for each text.

OET Writing Task

The profession-specific Writing subtest takes 45 minutes. Based on a normal office environment and the requirements of the profession, one job is established for each one. A nurse completes the job for healthcare, a dentist completes the assignment for dental care, and so on.

The assignment is to compose a letter—typically a recommendation letter. A note of transfer / discharge, a letter to notify or advise a patient, caretaker, or group, or another sort of letter may be necessary from time to time.

You will get stimulus material (review noted and/or other associated documents), along with task instructions, that provides details to utilize in your answer.

OET Speaking

It takes around 20 minutes to administer the Speaking subtest to each student individually. Materials created expressly for the candidate’s profession are used in this portion of the OET. In every role-play, the applicant assumes a professional position (such as a nurse or a pharmacist), and the interlocutor assumes the part of a sufferer, a customer, or a patient’s kin or caretaker. The animal’s owner or caregiver is the interlocutor in veterinary science. Call us for certified caregiver training online.
